Diclofenac has no real pharmacological interactions with tobacco/nicotine. Smoking does not affect any prescribed tablets I know of in fact. Therefore, if your DR has decided the medicine is safe it will be. Liver damage is unlikely, it’s possible with NSAIDs but if you AVOID getting drunk (Best not to drink at all) and take as prescribed 50mg is not a high dose. If you have a history of liver problems ask to be put on something else (eg dihydrocodeine, tramadol) which relieves pain in a different way with less chance of affecting the hepatic system.
