Could cleaner streets mean flats to rent in Tooting gain popularity?
An initiative to clean up Tooting may encourage more people to look at living in flats to rent in the London borough of Wandsworth. The ongoing campaign has just been awarded a gold medal in a competition being run to find the best environmentally-friendly schemes being organised in the capital. A reduction in cigarette littering and work to lower the amount of illegal dumping being carried out by builders in the area were recognised by the accolade. Educational initiatives were organised by the Capital Clean-Up campaign in a bid to educate businesses and residents about the bad effects of littering and leaving rubbish in the streets.
