Could Citalopram treat paranoia as well as depression?
Citalopram have worked very well for me been on them nearly 6 months. I think they help to lesson anxiety and with that probably you will feel less suspicious and paranoid. Low self esteem really needs some work on your part though. The tablets give you a lift to help you deal better with getting through the depression but positive thinking and having the courage to do things for yourself in small steps but things that push you a little all help to build up your self esteem. Read up on depression, low self esteem. There’s lots of info and useful websites on line. The main thing is to be determined to do something about it and you really can. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy may be helpful for you. Gets lots of support from family and those you trust as that helps a great deal. For the first week or 2 of taking Citalopram i felt worse i think, so if you do get side effects thats pretty normal for a short time.
