Could Bush be more petty?
I was appalled tonight to learn (via Sister Ruth) that our former Governor and sitting President will not be attending the ceremony to honor Governor Richards. Yes, I know the history but that’s hardly an excuse. Governor Richards served Texas well and whether you are a Democrat or a Republican, you should honor that service. I always thought the President was petty and childish. It’s good to know I was right. For a former Governor to spurn services for another former Governor is unacceptable. The best thing that ever happened to Texas was Clayton Williams opening his mouth. The worst thing that ever happened to Texas was George W. Bush opening his. After taking credit for what Governor Richards did during her term and leaving a mess when he moved to Washington, the least he could do would be to honor a woman who did a lot for Texas.
