Could Bruce Pearl Replace Al Skinner?
Boston College wants someone that will embrace the campus spirit and that they can build a program around. Al Skinner was not that man. Though Skinner is leaving as the most successful basketball coach in the history of the school, his teams have been on the decline the last few seasons, as have ticket sales and fan interest. Many believe his humble demeanor played a big part of the little excitement that ever surrounded the team. A coaching search has begun, and though the team has announced that they have received permission to speak to 3 different candidates, none have been identified. We believe we know who one of those might be. Bruce Pearl is a graduate of Boston College, and had his first coaching gig as an assistant with the Eagles. Boston College can not be identified as a football school anymore than it can be described as a basketball school. Whereas at Tennessee, Pearl will always be competing for the spotlight with not only the Vols football program, but with the woman’s b
