Could Bigfoot be a cross between man and ape?
Assuming that Bigfoot does exist, which is already quite a leap of faith given the current lack of evidence, it is almost 100% certain that it is not a human-ape hybrid. First of all, there are no non-human apes in the Americas, so where would the other 50% of the genome come from? Monkeys and apes are different; there are monkeys in the Americas but no apes. In fact, the monkeys that are found in the Americas are actually LESS closely related to humans than the monkeys found in the “Old World.” Monkeys and humans belong to the same biological order, Primates, just as domestic dogs and grizzly bears belong to the same order and they certainly cannot interbreed.
