From a historical perpective, he certainly is the most influential, etc. writer ever, as his work, along with that of Plato, dominated the field of philosophical inquiry for well over a millenium. The only other work that competes with the writings of Plato and Aristotle from the historical standpoint is the Bible, and that did not have any single author.
