Could any one tell me the history and origin of surname Kuwalekar?

Kuwalekar is definitely Indian in origin, especially because it ends in “kar.” The letters “kar” seem to be a familiar ending to Indian surnames, just as the letters “ian” are for Armenians. Unfortunately, Kuwalekar does not seem to be a common name, so I did not find much about the history of the surname. I found the surname Kuvalekar to be a Karhaadaa surname in India. It may come from a Dravidian language or Sanskrit. I wish I could be of more help. I am in the United States and possibly do not have the Indian resources to find out about this name. I posted a query on Ancestry.com, and I’ll see if anyone responds.
