If he is elected, I think that would say a lot about where we are in this country about racism–the politics of forgiveness and inclusion. He would be more sympathetic and knowledgeable, coming from Chicago, about the plight of poor blacks. If he is sincere, and I think he is, he will build a bridge between black and white, Republican and Democrat. He looks more like the people he will be dealing with in the Middle East, and that will help level the playing field. I like his entire personna and the fact that he will listen to another point of view, and wants to restore our reputation in the world.
