It all depends. In a way, you’re both right. If you took a 16 year old boy completely at random off of the street, and told him that from now on he’ll be training with professionals and will be doing every single thing they do, the likelihood is, he’ll become a semi-decent footballer. The training is the key to being a footballer. It’s the same with any other job. Say you went to uni and studied law. If you payed attention and tried to learn etc, you’re obviously going to become capable in law after a certain amount of time. If you got train at football everyday for a few years, you’re going to become a capable footballer. However, I think you over-estimate the level. I could train everyday from now, and there is no way I could go to play in that league. While the standard may seem terrible, the players are always much more talented than you think. It’s the same through all the leagues. The person should this ever happen would be lucky to become a footballer anywhere beyond a semi-pro
