Could a weight -loss pill cause serotonin syndrome or further depression?

Do not EVER use weight-loss pills. There is no magic pill out there other than pills that will screw your system to either accelerate your metabolism, or cut on hunger, or whatever that yes will cause you to lose weight (sometimes), but the payoff is not worth it (i.e.: developped Diabetes Type II, more mental disorders, the Serotonin Syndrome (almost always fatal if not always), etc). Is it safe for people with depression to take pills… most often no. I know myself. MANY people are prescribed anti-depressants (SSRI’s) and/or Benzo’s which can actually worsen the effect even on depression itself. Here’s a cue: have you ever felt REALLY depressed on these pills? I’m sure the answer is yes, therefore the medical treatment does not only act as a chemical balancer but also as a semi-placebo and “my moods are taken into hand, therefore I have not to worry about X/Y”.
