Could a virus wipe the data of a graphics card?
hi there no,well it depends on what you are asking,if you mean the stream processors and cores then no,these are part of the card and its software and drivers that make these work,all a virus would do is corrupt the drivers which would them mean the card would not be able to run properly in older cards(dx8 and dx9) there were pixel pipelines and the more of these you had the better the card,and these were also part of the card and virus/spyware could not damage these whats probally happened to you is a virus has corrupted either the display driver or a game/application has been infected which in both cases would affect the smooth running of the program and thus it would look like your card was damaged as artifacts and crashes would occur which to the untrained eye could be seen as a damaged card the solution is simple,either scan your p.c and locate the infected file for removal,then download the latest display driver for your card,however remember to remove your current driver before
