Could a profoundly Deaf person be hypnotised?

I would say yes. hypnotism is just taking control over a persons mind with their permission. I think words are the most common medium because it is the default means of communication for most of us. That does not mean that words alone are the way to go. Here is the process for hypnotism as I understand it. The person gives control of their thoughts to you. Beforehand, you place in the memory a means for the person to regain control. The most common signal is a snap of the finger. But it can be anything. So long as you can communicate your wishes to the person they are capable of doing as you asked. The biggest part of hypnotizing someone is them voluntarily giving you charge over their very thoughts. So long as they know how to “listen” beforehand, you can do it.
