Fluency in French is a must for living and attending classes in France. If you are from the US and think that France is some kind of utopia where everything is free, you will be in for a big shock. I’m not saying that the French universities (college is for 11 years old to 14 years old) will laugh at your application but giggling will be heard. No, you can’t attend French university without fluency in French, courses are in French and you’re supposed to understand the teachers. As well, foreign students pay for their way in and finding any job in France without speaking French is a bit of a challenge.
