Could 8th grade social studies curriculum changes in Framingham presage similar changes in Newton?
by A. R. and A. S. Framingham has already made the switch. It has moved World History into 8th grade and U. S. history into high school. Newton is still contemplating whether they should keep U. S. history where it is: in the 8th grade, or send it packing to the high school. In September 2003, 8th graders in the Framingham middle schools returned from their summer break to find that they’d be studying World History instead of U. S. History. Debbie Moran, an aide at Day, has a son who had this experience.
