Corset Piercing Question #2: Are they safe?
This is the million dollar question when it comes to corset piercings. Many body piercing artists will not perform surface piercings because of their high rate of failure and possible infection. This is especially so when it comes to the areas of the back. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t successful corset piercings. The most important thing to do with corset piercings is to consult extensively with your body piercing artist. Make sure that only surface piecing jewelry is used and not simple bead rings—which can lead to highly visible scarring along the back. Also insist that the body piercing artist does a test piercing on your body. This should be done with any experimental piercing and is especially important with the back—which has a high rate of infection.Jewlery that works best with corset piercings are surface bars and even transdermal implants. They may not look as striking as bead rings but they will at least give you a fighting chance in keeping your back nice and healthy
