To help its participants become successful in the public arena, Coro works closely with Fellows in three main areas that will help them: 1. Develop and enhance their skills in critical thinking, public speaking, negotiation, meeting facilitation, organizational analysis, consensus-building, systems thinking, and interpersonal communication. 2. Learn to work effectively in a team setting. Together Fellows learn how to solve complex problems, take responsibility for increasing each other’s effectiveness as leaders, and provide each other with continuous feedback, evaluation, and encouragement. 3. Understand how the different sectors of society work and interact with each other. This is accomplished through interviews with established leaders, focus weeks, and field placements in government agencies, businesses, non-profit organizations, labor unions, and political campaigns.
