Convector heaters: Are they cheap to run? Are they effective at heating rooms?
The wattage dictates the energy use. Nothing else. Therefor a 1000 watt heater of any type costs exactly the same to run per hour.There is no difference in heating effectiveness. But a radiant heater will feel more comfortable as it heats bodies (including you) but is slow to heat the room air. Convectors heat the air and you warm up slower from the heated air in the room.
