Contents of rented storage unit stolen by employees of storage facility-proof from recorded phone conversations-what can I do?
I rented a unit at a large nationally well-known self-storage facility…When I called to make a payment yesterday I was informed that “3 weeks ago they had found the doors to my storage unit wide open and all the contents were gone” They did NOT inform me or file a police/theft report they simply marked it “vacated” and re-rented it to another customer. They have tons of security there in terms of all the gates,codes, etc and my padlocked unit was in the back of the building not near the front doors.
