Considering current exchange rates, what would you think to the UK joining the Euro?

I think it would be a disaster and cost us even more to join the Euro than to stay with the pound. Whatever spare resources we have now, we need to trade for gold and other precious metals because that’s where the stability is. All world money is a dead loss at the moment and I believe that we need to invest in real things.

There is no need to have even a basic understanding of money values. It’s all to do with being British. We have our own currnency here in UK – the Scottish Pound and the English Pound. Think there might also be a Northern Ireland Pound, and I know that the Isle of Man also has it’s own Pound. Even die-hard Europeans have finally given up in total exhaution over the British argument concerning weights and measures – we can now legally use our own Imperial measurements. The vote on going to the Euro has not changed in years and remains strongly and firmily at 71% against. POWER TO THE PEOPLE Note: Everytime we have been tied to Europe, the Romans then the Normans, the values of our small revenues have gone down.

Labour’s always been consistent with the view that they would only join when the timings right, and right now in these economic times it would be a pretty silly thing to do. I personally am in two minds about it, I like the pound, its part of being British, but then having a currency that can be used in many European countries is a handy thing to have eg if you go on holiday or get money sent from your family abroad. I don’t mind what the outcome of it all is, the pound or the Euro, but I know that moving to it right now wouldn’t be good until rates balance themselves out again.
