Connecting Huge Pine USB to Serial Converter to a modem?
but if the port has been assigned did u said to ur modem to use this port ,u know the modems can use any com ports ,try to reinstall ur modem by adding hardware again to find out if really the port assigned ,for testing convertor ,the fast way is to use it on another computer with ur modem that doesnt want to work,yesssssss,u move the both set of them to another computer ,some of times standards are different ,it means may be ur external modem doesnt want to work but ur serial mouse work ,also try to find out if the xp know it well
