Concept Inspired Or Verbally Inspired?
1. Jesus based an argument upon the tense of a word found in the text of the Old Testament (Matthew 22:32). Paul based on argument upon whether a word in the Bible was found in the singular or the plural (Galatians 3:16). 2. The prophets wanted to know more about what was being revealed through them (1 Peter 1:10-12). 3. Paul plainly described the inspiration process as God giving them spiritual thoughts with spiritual words (1 Corinthians 2:13). The concept and the exact words to use in expressing that concept. 4. Apart from God’s revelation, every biblical writer was just as ignorant about spiritual truth, as any other man or woman (Isaiah 55:8-9; Jeremiah 10:23).
