Compatible Pcmcia Nic Driver: Which Driver I Should Use?
I got Retail version of Windows XP Pro (SP1). Problem is, that my PCMCIA NIC card doesn’t get installed. It should be NE2000 compatible, and it was working in Win95/98. WinXP detects it as “PCMCIA Ethernet”, the LED-lights on adapter goes blinking as they normally do (Link is lit and Activity blinks when i ping 192.168.1.255), but the WinXP itself doesn’t seem to finish NE2000 driver initialization. The adapter gets a yellow balloon and goes to “Other devices”… Nothing seem to help with it, not even trying to scan IRQ-IOaddress combinations.. Please, someone with even some experience with NE2000 compatible PCMCIA Network card, contact me and tell me everything about your own solution. Even small hints are good!!
