Color combinations are commonly used to indicate various steel grades. Where are these color combinations established?
Colors that identify the various grades of structural steel used to be established in ASTM A6/A6M; for example, green and yellow for ASTM A572 grade 50 steel, blue and yellow for ASTM A588 steel, and green and black for ASTM A992 steel. Note, however, that the requirement for color coding has been eliminated in ASTM A6/A6M-01b.
