Collin College has two ESL programs. What is the difference between the credit program and the noncredit program?
CREDIT ESL PROGRAM The credit ESL program is a structured program with multiple levels in conversation, reading, writing, grammar, pronunciation, cross-cultural communication and academic study skills. Students must take tests, complete lab assignments and pass exit assessments to continue to the next skill level. This program is under the Developmental Education Division. Students may register for these classes as credit students or noncredit students. The noncredit students are concurrent/noncredit students. For tuition purposes, COLLIN offers concurrent enrollment in the ESL credit classes for students who do not qualify as Texas residents. All students wishing to register for a credit ESL class must take the ESL Assessment in the Testing Center at the Spring Creek Campus. Although these courses are credited classes, they do not count towards a degree or certificate and they do not transfer to other schools. All students will receive a grade for their course; however, concurrent/non
