College Help! Should I go for a Vet Tech or What else?
Unfortunately there’s nothing in the middle. I’m in high school and work at a vet clinic as a part time veterinary assistant and plan on being a vet (don’t do the veterinary assistant either lol they make way less money) and its wise to acknowledge that you don’t want the 8 years of school, you try to go through with that if you don’t really want to do it and it’ll kill you. I suggest maybe a zoology degree or something like that, I’ve had friends who have done it and liked it for those reasons. Its something to look into. However most vet techs I’ve met and worked with are looking at their job only as a stepping stone to other jobs, and not as a career.
