Of the upper class students who pursue an interest in matriculating at a medical school, nearly 90 percent of those who apply are accepted on the first attempt. Many of these students take the MCAT in the summer after the sophomore year, relying on a core knowledge of biology, chemistry, and physics to score well enough to be a competitive applicant. As a result, they are able to focus and learn upper-division course material effectively. We frequently hear reports that one of our Grover grads has achieved near the top of a medical school class.
