Cinergy Health Insurance, has anyone heard about this health insurance good or bad?
Cinergy Health Insurance is a bunch of bull! I only had it for one month. I purchased it because I found out I was pregnant and there were no pre-existing clauses. I had a miscarriage during the one month of service. That was back in August of 2009. I had to fax them my claims information for the miscarriage procedure 5 times before they would acknowledge receipt of them. Then it took them 3 months to figure out that they had the proper information to put the claim in. They informed me it would take 10 business days to get the claim in the system. It has now been 20 business days; I just called to today and they say the claim is still not in the system yet because they have a backlog of claims to be manually entered. I should check back in 10 more business days. I’ve already paid all the bills since they were being sent to collections by now (it’s been 9 months since the service was provided). I’m not sure if Cinergy will ever pay but they sure are giving me a serious runaround!! I am
Cinergy Health plans are a rip off. They have been issued a cease and desist order by the Commissioner is Insurance in Arkansas, but prior to this other states. If you want to read about it just google the Arkansas Commissioner of Insurance. They are in trouble in their own state. They lost their BBB membership and an Administrative complaint 107384-10-AG has been filed by Alex Sink, Chief Financial Officer of the State of Florida. Yes, other states are trying to do something about this problem, but CA seems to be going nowhere with it. The media is interested. There are two noteworthy newspaper articles (Miami Herald, Beatrix Garcia and Houston Press, Craig Malisow). CBS aired a report about a company called American Trade Assn or ATA (similar mo to Cinergy) and ABC’s Good Morning America discussed the Cinergy/American Medical and Life (AMLI) problem.
