christmas lights on pre-lit tree….section has burned out. help?

0

I have a pre-lit 6 foot christmas tree I just bought from some stranger and when I set it up I realized that the middle section of the tree has burnt out lights. The top and the very bottom still light up. I don’t know how to fix this. What should I do? Can I remove the strands with wire cutters and apply my own new strand of lights? Please be detailed. I’ve never had this problem before. Thank you! A: Sounds like the three sections are wired in parallel, but the light bulbs themselves are in series. You could just try replacing one bulb at a time until you find the one that’s burnt out (it’s going to be near the beginning of the strand).
