Children in the Locker Room – Whats a Girl to Do?
After a long, hard workout, I usually reward myself with some time in my gym’s hot tub or sauna, both of which require I change out of my sweaty gym clothes and into a bathing suit or towel. And both of which require nudity. Usually, I just strip very quickly in the empty locker room, with just a few seconds of exposed skin that no one sees, anyway. But this weekend I was doing my thing at the gym, unaware that Saturday afternoon is “family swim”, a time when members can bring their toddlers to splash in the pool. I’m all for lifetime fitness, and teaching kids that the water is fun, not scary, and good exercise is awesome. As long as the kids are well behaved and don’t hit me with their pool toys, I don’t care. The real issue was that there was a woman in my row in locker room with a two and a half year-old boy running rampant. Let me repeat that I don’t really mind the concept of “family swim”.
