Chicken Pox immunity?
Impetigo is a bacterial infection caused by either staph or strep which ordinarily live on your skin. That’s not quite the same thing as the herpes zoster virus that causes Chicken Pox. But yes, if you are working around children and you haven’t had Chicken Pox, it would definitely be worth the time and trouble to get the vaccination. You would not like to catch Chicken Pox as an adult, it’s really really really unpleasant for adults. They invariably get a nasty case of it, with pox all over and in spots you don’t want to even think about. The herpes family has many members, and just because you are immune to one sort has no bearing on immunity to the others. Since you are a teacher, and will inevitably come in contact with numerous childhood diseases, I highly recommend you get immunized against any of them you have not already had and are immune to. That would include rubella and rubeolla as well as mumps. Just gather up whatever records you may have for your childhood immunizations,
