Chapter 5 – Bloodlines Q: Is it possible to raise the dead in RoE, and if so what is the effect on a blooded character?
Yes, raise dead and similar spells do exist, but they have been slightly altered with regard to how old the corpse can be (significantly reduced!). Upon a scion’s death the bloodline is returned to the land. Just note that the bloodline is tied to a characters soul, so if the body dies but the soul somehow doesn’t pass on to the Great Beyond, the bloodline is retained (so ghosts of scions will likely still be blooded). Returning the scion from the dead does not restore the bloodline. A full wish can restore a bloodline lost through character death, unless the Land’s Choice has already passed the bloodline to someone else, in which case the wish simply fails.
