To live up to the expectations of readers while making every story different enough to keep my own interest alive. To write stories that create a venue for exploring what I have to say about life and love. Briefly summarize, again, how you began writing. Funny, unusual circumstances or anecdotes would be great to include. I was a stay-at-home mom with three pre-school age children and a passion for reading. One night I had a dream set in historical Scotland with a handsome, kilted ghost who appeared to a teenage girl and helped her with her problems. It was so colorful and memorable that I sat down and recorded it on paper. The process was so satisfying that I continued, doing small stream-of-consciousness pieces, descriptions of events, and poetry. Over the next six years, I read everything I could find on the art of putting words on paper, slowly teaching myself how to write. My first sale was a poem to a newspaper for the grand sum of $1.
