Are you a “Speakeasy” or “Scanner” cell phone user? Friday November 28, 2003 Found in “joi ito” via “gizmodo” (two technology blogs) today is a very in depth study by Motorola on our body language when using mobile phones. Dr Sadie Plant, who conducted the study, identified various personality types such as the “speakeasy”, a sort of snob that talks head thrown back and neck upright or the “scanners”, those who talk nervously and dart their eyes around, “as though they were searching for the absent face of the person to whom the call is made”.
