Dr Sadie Plant, who conducted the study, identified various personality types such as the “speakeasy”, a sort of snob that talks head thrown back and neck upright or the “scanners”, those who talk nervously and dart their eyes around, “as though they were searching for the absent face of the person to whom the call is made”.
