You should be able to connect the fan white and the line white, and the fan black with the line black. Put a wire nut on the red and do not use it. (red would be if the switch was for a fan and separate light switch). The fan ground could be wrapped around the mounting screw of the ceiling box if there is no bare ground in ceiling box.
