Catholic schools charge tuition. Is the tuition affordable?
Catholic schools are funded primarily by tuition. Each of the 17 Catholic schools of the Diocese sets its own tuition, after a thoughtful process of discernment. (This process generally seeks to strike a balance between what parents can afford and what teachers need to be paid.) In this time of economic recession, parents may legitimately wonder whether they can afford a Catholic school education for their children. Parents are invited to put their money where their heart is, and thus to ask whether, after meeting their family’s basic needs, there is any more worthwhile investment they could make than an investment in a Catholic school education for their child.
