No. Although we often recruit students with Masters degrees, this is not strictly necessary unless you obtained a 2.2 for your undergraduate degree or have little lab-based experience. Can I apply for funding from the University? The School has a number of UK Research Council (UKRC) and UK charities studentships available as well as some that are not administered through the University like the Dorothy Hodgkin Studentships. There are also a limited number of School studentships. Note that most of these awards will only pay the Home/EC student fee and, in the case of the UKRC studentships, are effectively restricted to UK students only (they will only pay tuition fees for EU students). Please note on your application form if you would like to be considered for one of these studentships. Other sources of funding can be found here.
