16 April 05: No matter what day of the week: it will be quite busy. If you really want to walk without crowds you can consider spending the night in Omalos at the top of the gorge, and walk the gorge first thing in the morning, before the buses arrive. You could also start from the other side: Agia Roumeli, and walk up until you meet the crowds. Caroline asked: I’m trying to work out how to get from Loutro to Paleohora on May 31st in order to pick up my hire car and drive back to Hania to catch a flight at 15.20 – is this possible?! Thanks in advance for your help. 16 April 05: This is not possible on the same day, since the ferry connection Agia Roumeli – Paleochora is only available in the afternoon.
