Zoysia should NOT be considered for a lawn (a) where another grass is already established, (b) located where the summer is not very, very long, (c) where winter temperatures fall below 60 degrees, (d) in shade, (e) in alkaline soil with a high pH, (f) in high-clay-content soil where there is a lot of moisture… Many people grow it anyway. We can talk about that. But tell me where you are thinking of planting Zoysia and I can give you the pro’s and con’s. You can make an Intelligent Decision that way.
