• Paid employment under an appropriate industrial award • A Contract of Training registered with Traineeship and Apprenticeship Management • A training program delivered by a Registered Training Organisation. Traineeships have traditionally been of 12 months duration; however they have now been expanded to include longer term traineeships to cater for vocations that require longer than 12 months to complete. Part-time traineeships are now available through negotiation with individual agencies on a case-by-case basis. This is to assist those most disadvantaged enter the workforce and agencies operating in regional and remote areas. Part-time School-based New Apprenticeships are now available to the State Public Sector and are administered through the Department of Education and Children’s Services. What is a Cadetship?
