One reason so many women are attached to doing cardio workouts instead of weight training is you can monitor how many calories you’re burning as you work out. For instance, on the treadmill, there’s almost always a display that shows “calories burned.” This isn’t true for weights. You won’t ever find that display on a dumbbell. But calories burned while doing an exercise is a long way from the end of the story. You see, weight training causes an increase in the resting metabolic rate all day long (not just for a little over an hour like cardio).
