Can run scandisk or defrag on c: drive?

Assuming that the C drive is your main partition (i.e. where you’ve installed windows) you can’t scandisk it while you’re using your computer. But you can schedule it to run at boot time. To do this: 1. Go to Start > Run 2. Type ‘cmd’ then hit enter 3. Type chkdsk c: /F (for another partition, just switch the letter ‘c’) 4. When asked to run it at boot time, type Y and then Enter. That’s it, you are done.
