Can get through or number unobtainable?
Sometimes the number is redirecting to a mobile phone and there may be a bad signal or the phone may be switched off. You may get through if you try again at a different time. I am getting a message saying “Calls to this number are unavailable at present” – or other similar message. Another problem can be because the phone system you are calling from has call barring in place. Even though LAPS numbers are not classed as premium numbers by OFCOM, call barring systems to prevent calls to premium numbers can be a bit heavy handed and may prevent callers from accessing ‘personal numbering systems’ such as the LAPS numbers. So you may need to call from a different phone system. This is most often the reason why some people can’t get through on a LAPS number when they call from their work phone.
