Yes any firewall can interfer with the installation or update of TrendMicro’s OfficeScan. If you have a firewall, make sure you are not blocking port 11050 or the program TMListen.exe. You may get messages similar to the following: “tmlisten.exe” wants to “act as a server” (Source IP 0.0.0.0 Port 11050), as well as “access the internet” (IP 0.0.0.0.DNS).’ You should reply “Yes” to ZoneAlarm and tick on the “Remember this answer” box Zonealarm needs to be told to allow certain things (eg tmlisten.exe) if Trend is to function properly. It doesn’t always ask before it blocks something but it logs it. You can look in the ZA log if something weird is happening and sometimes find that ZA is blocking something.
