Z codes are for local assignment, although Z codes reside in the Telcordia IAC Code and EC Code National Database, they are shown as invalid and should not be used in place of valid IAC codes. ZZZ and CUS are not IAC Codes (aka ACNA) but can be considered defaults for a required field in the ordering and other processes. For additional information please review Section 14 page 14-1 of the SR-5262. Q: Once the proper documentation has been submitted and approved does that mean that the requesting company owns the IAC/EC codes and can that company treat the code as an asset to be retained or sold?
