Can you wash a cotton shirt with spray paint on it without it washing out the paint?

I accidently got paint on a pair of jeans years ago, and the paint is still there after countless washings. And the paint mark has not bled…it’s still the exact same shape it was, and the rest of the jeans have been unaffected. I don’t machine dry the jeans, tho…I hang them to dry. Plus, I don’t really want the keep the paint. Murphy’s Law would dictate that the paint would not hang on so well if I actually wanted it there. 🙂 But, given this experience, I would say that the spray paint would stay even if you wash the shirt. To be on the safe side, use cold water and then hang the shirt to air dry.
