You could try them out. I do not know the size of the wood pellets but if it is anything close to the size of any feed pellets I would be worried they may start ingesting a few and then possibly causing colic. Weigh the pros and cons. If you have had horses for any length of time you know that what should not be a problem can sometimes cause the most problem. I personally would not use them with my horses.
