Can you use vegetable oil to make a Rubiks cube faster?

Contrary to popular belief, you actually can lubricate a cube with cooking oil. However, the results are not as good as, say, Vaseline, because the oil dries up faster than the gel does. If you do use oil, then be prepared to get your hands greasy. Also, when you are using the oil, be sure to apply it only to the parts of the cube that are moved. i.e., the center axel and the sides. DO NOT pour the oil into your cube, for you will end up making it worse. Last but not least, don’t over-lubricate your cube. It slows you down.
