Can you use the sea salt you buy for food to mix up salt water for hermit crabs?
no. Food-grade sea salt is just one type of salt. Salt falls out of solution as water evaporates at different rates. Sea water contains many different salts, as well as other minerals, and the food grade sea salt is only one element. So aquarium mix has more salts and chemicals in it than the stuff we eat.
