Can you use plaster of paris in ceramic molds?
I work with disabled individuals and recently we had a wonderful offer. Someone donated 200 ceramic molds for the individuals to use to make different projects with. I don’t know much about ceramic molds so I was wondering if anyone could help me. Due to the disabilities some of the individuals have it would not be a good idea to have a kiln or anything like that around. Plus the easier it is for them the better. What I was wondering is, if I go to wal-mart and purchase plaster of paris, can I use it in the molds? The woman who donated the molds said that she thought I could, but I wanted to double check. I was thinking that it would be alot easier for them to pour the plaster in the molds, let it harden, and then paint it. I know that the projects wouldn’t have that shiny look like they would if i used clay and a kiln. I just wanted to double check and make sure this idea would work. Probably yes although you would have to check each mold and would certainly have to apply separator li
